Happy Equinox, Eclipse, New Moon!
We're here in Germany, a little over two weeks in. Crows loudly sing, hideous yet beautiful. Today is a little chilly and grey, clouds covered the solar eclipse.
This tour is bringing many gifts.
I have learned that you don't need to speak the same language to have an absolutely profound conversation. Music communicates so directly, it's almost intimidating - soul to soul. I have learned that I have a strong voice, even when under less than ideal circumstances (smoking inside is still very much a thing here in Germany) -- and that in fact, singing everyday brings me energy. I have gathered more understanding about what is important to me about making good art and sharing more of myself on stage and after a performance.
Immersions are good. It's good to take a different route to a familiar place. Our route brought us here to Germany, and over-all, it has been a good and strong experience!
We have had the pleasure of touring with Thomas Deakin. His presence and experience bring a lot of calm and ease. Together we three make great music -- and we push each other to do ridiculous things such as jumping into the North Sea naked in March at midnight. When else are we going to have such an opportunity?!
Below, we are pictured with Joanna Chlebowska-Krause. Her and her husband Marek Krause have brought such sweetness and friendship to our time here in Bremen. So grateful to be near such bright lights!
We had the honor of filming a little video of a new song currently titled "No Books, No Stars" through Nimmerland. Hope you enjoy!
We have just a little over a week left here in fair Germany! Then it's back to Washington until our next adventure!
Until again! With love!
